Mamelodi Sundowns have been charged by Premier Soccer League for contravening Rule 16.3.2 of the National Soccer League handbook after they have allegedly fielded an illegible player (Wayne Arendse) against Bidvest Wits on 7 October 2018 in a league match.

That ABSA Premiership fixture ended 1-1 courtesy of Hlompho Kekana and Keegan Ritchie strikes.

Wayne Arendse was on the Mamelodi Sundowns squad list but not on the teamsheet that submitted to match officials during pre-match meeting and basically he was sitting on the stands.

Thapelo Morena got injured during warm up and Mamelodi Sundowns did not use the substitutes listed on the teamsheet as his replacement on the starting line up.

The defending champions decided to replace Thapelo Morena with the player sitting on the stands in the name of Wayne Arendse.

Mamelodi Sundowns will appear on PSL D.C. on Wednesday, 7 February 2019.
