Kermit Erasmus netted a winner for the Citizens on the first half. Mlungisi Mazibuko and Eyona Ndondo made his debut for Chippa United and Cape Town City respectively.

Peter Shalulile opened the scoring for the Lions of the North and Sphelele Mkhulise levelled matters for the Brazilians. Both goals were scored in the second half. Promise Mkhuma made his debut for Mamelodi Sundowns.
