Both sides failed to find the back of the after one hundred and twenty minutes of football. Senegal won 4-2 on penalties. With this match result, Senegal crowned 2021 Africa Cup champions and the Lions of Teranga lifted the trophy for the first time.

The golden boot award went to Vincent Aboubakar of Cameroon for scoring eight goals for the Indomitable Lions for the scoring eight goals in the tournament.

The player of the tournament award went to Sadio Mane of Senegal. Mane scored three goals, provided two assists and also bagged two man of the match awards.

Edouard Mendy of Senegal. He kept three clean sheets for the Lions of Teranga in the tournament.

The best coach award went to Aliou Cisse of Senegal.

The award went to Issa Kabore of Burkina Faso.

The fair play award went to the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations champions, Senegal.
