Cyrille Bayala opened the scoring for the Stallions. Burkina Faso went into the halftime break leading by 1-0. Getaneh Kebede levelled matters for the Walias through the penalty spot on the second half. With this match result, Burkina Faso have qualified for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations last 16 and Ethiopia have been eliminated.

Vincent Aboubakar opened the scoring for the Indomitable Lions. Cameroon went into the halftime break leading by 1-0. Garry Rodrigues levelled matters for the Blue Sharks on the second half. With this match result, Cameroon have been confirmed as the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations Group A winners and the fate of Cape Verde in the tournament will decided on 19 January 2022.
