Both sides failed to find the back of the net after ninety minutes of football and the match went into extra-time. Both sides went into the extra-time halftime break levelled at 0-0. Adil Boulbina netted a winner for the Desert Foxes in the second half of the extra-time. With this match result, Algeria are through to the quarter-finals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and DR Congo have been eliminated at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

Amad Diallo opened the scoring for the Elephants. Yan Diomande doubled the lead for the Elephants. Cote d’Ivorie went into the halftime break leading by 2-0. Bazoumana Toure tripled the lead and also sealed the win for the Elephants in the second half. With this match result, Cote d’Ivorie are through to the quarter-finals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and Burkina Faso have been eliminated at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
