Samkele Sihlali opened the scoring for for the visitors and it was his first goal for the club. Chibuike Ohizu doubled the lead for Babina Noko. The away side went into the halftime break leading by 2-0. Kayden Francis pulled one back for the Citizens on the second half. With this match result, Sekhukhune United ended their two matches losing streak in all competitions and Diogo Peral lost his first match as the head coach of Cape Town City FC.
