Lehlohonolo Mojela opened the scoring for the Rockets. The visitors went into the halftime break leading by 1-0. Ismael Olivier Toure levelled matters for the Stellies on the second half and his goal took the match to extra-time. The scoreline remained unchanged on extra-time and match went into penalties. Stellenbosch FC won 5-4 on penalties. With this match result, Stellenbosch FC crowned 2023 Carling Knockout champions.
