Devin Titus opened the scoring for the visitors. The defending champions went into the halftime break leading by 1-0. Tshepang Moremi levelled matters for Usuthu on the second half and his goal took the match to extra-time. Andre de Jong netted a winner for the Stellies on the first half of the extra-time. With this match result, Arthur Zwane and Vusumuzi Vilakazi suffered their first defeat as the joint head coaches of AmaZulu FC.
