Abu Diop opened the scoring for the Lions of Teranga. Khuda Myaba levelled matters for the Flames. Both sides went into the halftime break levelled. Abu Diop completed his brace and also netted a winner for the Lions of Teranga on the second half. With this match result, Senegal secured their 2021 COSAFA Cup semi-final spot for the first time and Malawi have been eliminated.
