Both sides failed to find the back of the net in ninety minutes and the match went into extra-time. Tshepang Moremi opened the scoring for the Buccaneers. Tshegofatso Mabasa doubled the lead for the Buccaneers. The defending champions went into the extra-time halftime break leading by 2-0. Tshepang Moremi completed his brace and also sealed the win for the Buccaneers on the second half of extra-time. With this match result, Abdeslam Ouaddou won his first trophy as the head coach of Orlando Pirates.
