Olisah Ndah opened the scoring for the Buccaneers. The home side went into the halftime break leading by 1-0. Vincent Pule levelled matters for Matsatsantsa and it was his first goal for the club on the second half. The match went into extra-time after both sides were levelled at 1-1 scoreline after ninety minutes. Monnapule Saleng restored the lead for host on the first half of extra-time. Evidence Makgopa sealed the win for the Buccaneers on the second half of extra-time. With this match result, Mamelodi Sundowns are through to semi-finals of the 2024 MTN8 Cup.
