Ronald Pfumbidzai opened the scoring for the hosts. The home side went into the halftime break leading by 1-0. Diego Appollis doubled the lead and also sealed the win for the Chilli Boyz on the second half. With this match result, Chippa United ended their two matches losing streak in all competitions.

With this match result, Royal AM extended their unbeaten run into six matches since John Maduka rejoined the club.
