Hendrick Ekstein opened the scoring for Usuthu and it was his first goal for the club. Revaldo Fox levelled matters for Chaba Refete. Both goals were scored on the second half of the normal time. The match went into the 30 minutes of the extra-time, however the scoreline remained unchanged. Dondol Stars won 5-4 on penalties. With this match result, Dondol Stars are the second team to book the quarter-final spot of the 2023 Nedbank Cup.
