Kermit Erasmus opened the scoring for the visitors. The away side went into the halftime break leading by 1-0. Yusuf Maart levelled matters for Amakhosi on the second half of the normal time and his goal took the match to extra-time. Sandile Mthethwa netted a winner for the Buccaneers on the second half of the extra-time and it was his first goal for the club. With this match result, Orlando Pirates are through to the 2023 Nedbank Cup Final.
