Both sides went into the halftime break levelled at 1-1 scoreline. The Cane Cutters took the lead for the first time in this match through Thato Mohlamme. Bongokuhle Hlongwane completed his brace and also levelled matters for the Team of Choice. Maritzburg United won 4-2 on penalties. With this match result, Maritzburg United secured the semi-final spot and Uthongathi FC have been eliminated.
