Pretoria Callies are in hot water with the PSL for listing Xolani Sithole as the Under 23 player even though he is not Under 23.
Sithole played fourteen matches this season for the Romans listed as Under 23 player.
The player is not at fault at this case however error was done by Team Sheet preparer at Pretoria Callies.
Xolani Sithole was offered jersey number 47 this season by Pretoria Callies which was previously worn by Tlou Nkwe who is now with Polokwane City FC. Nkwe was listed as Under 23 player last season while he was on the books of the Romans however this season Pretoria Callies forgot remove Under 23 on the team sheet next to Xolani Sithole’s name.
In all, Pretoria Callies played 14 matches without knowing that they broke the NFD Under 23 rule.
I am told that the team which is fighting for relegation in the Motsepe Foundation Championship lodged a complaint against Pretoria Callies and it remains to be seen how PSL D.C. is going to deal with the above matter.
