SuperSport United Football Club confirmed the signing of Siyabonga Nhlapo on a three year deal from Bidvest Wits Football Club.

Siyabonga Nhlapo made his debut for SuperSport United in an ABSA Premiership match against Mamelodi Sundowns at Lucas Moripe Stadium. He came in as a sub in replacing Thabo Mnyamane. United lost that match by 2-0 courtesy of Hlompho Kekena and Themba Zwane’s strikes.

Siyabonga Nhlapo made his first start for SuperSport United and he also scored his first goal for the club in an ABSA Premiership match against Chippa United at Lucas Moripe Stadium. Nhlapho opened the scoring for the host and Moeketsi Sekola levelled matters for the Chilli Boys. Both goals were scored in the first half.

Siyabonga Nhlapo won his first gold medal with the club at Moses Mabhida Stadium. Nhlapho was sitting on the bench for the entire match on that MTN 8 Cup Final. Sibusiso Masina opened the scoring the Citizens and Thabo Mnyamane levelled matters for Matsatsantsa. The scoreline remained unchanged in the extra-time. SuperSport United defeated Cape City 4-2 on penalties.
