Women’s Africa Cup of Nations Preview for 18 July 2022 semi-finals matches.
Zambia vs South Africa
South Africa will take on Zambia in the TotalEnergies WAFCON semi final in Morocco. The match will kick-off at 19h00 at Mohammed Sports Complex.
Banyana Banyana and the Copper Queens both topped their groups impressively en route to the knockout rounds
The South African side too are very confident ahead of their clash against their neighbours.
Both teams have been very strong defensively since the start of the competition, an area of their game Nali says needs to again be solid if they’re to contain an attacking Banyana side
In all their matches, South Africa have scored at least once and even without the star of the team Thembi Kgatlana due to injury, they remain a potent threat.
Zambia needed to go all the way to a penalty shootout to eventually down Senegal in the quarter finals.
These two teams have both played some wonderful attacking football in Morocco and they are evenly matched.
Morocco vs Nigeria
The host nation will take on Super Falcons in the second semi final later on Monday. The Super Falcons are the defending champions and they will be looking to hold on to thier trophy. The match will kick-off at 22h00.
Morocco just like Banyana Banyana they have won all thier group stages games and top the group they will be facing an uphill mountain in the Super Falcons who started the campaign on a bad start as they lost thier first game against South Africa
All these four teams have qualified for the FIFA Women’s World Cup to be staged in Australia and New Zealand.
