Nhlanhla Mthandi opened the scoring for Banyana Banyana on the stroke of halftime. South Africa went into the halftime break leading by 1-0. Alice Kusi levelled matters for the Black Queens on the second half and her goal took the match to penalties. Ghana won 4-3 on penalties. With this match result, Ghana finished on the third place at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
