Barbra Banda doubled the lead for the Copper Queens through the penalty spot. Barbra Banda tripled the lead for the Copper Queens. Barbra Banda added the fourth goal for the Copper Queens. Eneless Phiri added the fifth goal goal for the Copper Queens. Barbra Banda completed her haul and also sealed the win for the Copper Queens. With this match result, Zambia returned to the winning ways at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations and Egypt have now lost their last two WAFCON matches.
Nigeria 2-3 Malawi, Al Madina Stadium
Both sides went into the halftime break levelled at 0-0. Temwa Chawinga opened the scoring for the Scorchers. Tabitha Chawinga doubled the lead for the Scorchers. Rasheedat Ajibade reduced the deficit for the Super Falcons through to the penalty spot. Temwa Chawinga completed her brace and also added the third goal for the Scorchers. Uchenna Kanu pulled one back for the Super Falcons. With this match result, Nigeria the defending champions lost their first match of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations and Malawi won their first WAFCON match.
