Doris Boaduwa opened the scoring for the Black Queens. Ghana went into the halftime break leading by 1-0. An own goal by Eleia Vieira doubled the lead and also sealed the win for the Black Queens in the second half. With this match result, Ghana won their first match of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations and Cape Verde lost their first WAFCON match.

Marie Ngah Manga opened the scoring for the Indomitable Lionesses. Aissata Traore levelled matters for the Female Eagles through the penalty spot. Both sides went into the halftime break levelled at 1-1. Marie Ngah Manga completed her brace and also netted a winner for Indomitable Lionesses through the penalty spot in the second half. With this match result, Cameroon returned to the winning ways at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations and Mali are now winless in their last four WAFCON matches.
