Hilda Magaia opened the scoring for Banyana Banyana. Hildah Magaia completed her brace and also doubled the lead for Banyana Banyana. Rosella Ayane pulled one back for the Atlas Lionesses. All three goals were scored on the second half. With this match result, South Africa crowned Women’s Africa Cup of Nations champions for the first time and history was made by Banyana Banyana. Furthermore, South Africa are the third nation to lift this trophy after Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea.
