Sibusiso Fakude opened the scoring for the Abantu Bemthetho. The visitors went into the halftime break leading by 1-0. Yagan Sasman levelled matters for the hosts and it was his first goal for the club. Ruzaigh Gamildien netted a winner for the Dube Birds. With this match result, Dylan Kerr registered his first victory as the head coach of Swallows FC.

Both goals were scored on the second half. The scoreline remained unchanged on extra-time. Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila won 7-6 on penalties. With this match result, Lamontville Golden Arrows have now lost their last three consecutive Nedbank Cup matches.
